Come and try the basics and a bit more of Dacayana Eskrima with Tamas who`s the only Authorised Coach in the south.
As an open event we`d like to invite everyone to join and learn some new skills that may be useful one day.
Eskrima, Arnis and (in the West) Kali are umbrella terms for the traditional martial arts of the Philippines that emphasise weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives and other bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons. It also includes hand-to-hand combat and weapon disarming techniques. Kali is a very sophisticated, highly refined old and indigenous art dating to prehistoric Philippines what`s been developed and practised for centuries, although until lately, has hardly been known outside the country. This 2 hour long workshop is the beginning of something more regular and will focus on:
- strikes,
- blocks,
- footwork,
- stick against stick techniques,
- stick and knife work,
- disarms…
…just to mention a few topics. The aim of the workshop is to teach you the basics of the art or if you`re already an FMA (Filipino Martial Art) student, to enhance your knowledge.
