As an open event we`d like to invite everyone to join and learn some new skills that may be useful one day.
Come and train with a highly respected martial artist
Marcie Harding
who is the European Director of Dacayana Eskrima and the highest level student (outside of the Philippines) of the founder GM Jun Dacayana.
Eskrima, Arnis and (in the West) Kali are umbrella terms for the traditional martial arts of the Philippines that emphasise weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives and other bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons. It also includes hand-to-hand combat and weapon disarming techniques. Kali is a very sophisticated, highly refined old and indigenous art dating to prehistoric Philippines what`s been developed and practised for centuries, although until lately, has hardly been known outside the country. We are very lucky that we could book some time in Marcie`s extremely busy diary for this event. This 3 hour long workshop will be run by Marcie and will focus on the knife fight section of the system:
- strikes,
- blocks,
- footwork,
- knife vs knife techniques,
- empty hand vs knife work,
- disarms…
…just to mention a few topics.
The aim of the workshop is to teach you the basics of the art or if you`re already an FMA (Filipino Martial Art) student, to enhance your knowledge.
As an open event we`d like to invite everyone to join and learn some new skills that may be useful one day.
